Worcester is a town in Washington County, of the Waterbury-Montpelier region and was probably named for Worcester, Massachusetts.
Worcester is home to many peaks over 3,000 feet, including Hunger Mountain, which was named by a hunting party in the early 19th century when they returned home after a day's hunting, with only a single partridge. Mount Worcester, though not as high as Hunter, is even more wild and desolate: a plane that crashed on the mountain wsan't found until a group of hikers stumbled on it years later.
