Colchester Vermont, is the fourth-largest municipality and second-largest town in Vermont by population. Located in Chittenden County, in the beautiful Lake Champlain Valley, just north of Burlington Vermont, the population was 17,067 in the 2010 census.
In the southeastern part of Colchester, public bus service is provided by the Chittenden County Transportation Authority.
There is a very popular annual fishing event in Colchester, it is called the "Lake Champlain International Father's Day Fishing Derby" (LCI) and thousands of fishermen participate each year.
Some noted residents of Colchester included: Tom Brennan, former University of Vermont (UVM) men's basketball coach; Ray Collins, former pitcher for the Boston Red Sox; and Donato Giancola, science fiction & fantasy illustrator.
