Nature journaling is a way to slow down and truly notice the natural world. By combining observation, writing, and sketching, participants begin to see patterns, ask questions, and build a deeper connection to the places around them.

Laura will guide participants through a variety of simple, approachable techniques to help them record what they observe, whether through words, drawings, or both, and discover methods that work best for them. We spend time outdoors (moving indoors if needed due to weather), exploring nearby habitats and practicing close observation.

This program is designed for beginners as well as those looking to deepen their existing practice. Participants should bring a journal or paper, writing/drawing utensils, and a portable chair.

Laura Beltran is Education Director with Nature Investigations, a certified nature journaling educator through the Wild Wonder Foundation, and a certified interpretive guide with the National Association for Interpretation. Recently she found joy in writing with current projects including “Reflections from the Field” and a children's book about spiders.
