Happy 40th Anniversary Northshire Bookstore

Come to Northshire Bookstore in Manchester, Vt  September 9-11 and help them celebrate their 40th Anniversary.

Northshire Bookstore first opened in 1976 and has been voted Best Bookstore in New England fabulous-bookstoreby Yankee Magazine! It is a family-owned, independent, community bookstore dedicated to the highest standard of service and the art of bookselling. Offering quality new and used books, gifts, music, and more, Northshire Bookstore invites you to browse three floors of books and unique gift items.  After shopping, grab a bite to eat or drink at the Spiral Press Cafe located on the second floor of the bookstore.

prattThe festivities kick off on Friday, September 9th.  From 10:00 am to 2:00, with a visit from local watercolor artist, Lynn Pratt, as she shows off her talent by creating paintings inspired by literary works. On Friday night at 7:00 pm come and see comedian Michael Kingsbury at the Spiral Press Cafe.  There will be a cash bar courtesy of the Perfect Wife Restaurant.

richardSaturday, the 10th, will be filled with special activities.  If you visit between 10:00 and 5:00, you will receive a scratch-off ticket for between 20%-40% off any purchase. If you are a Reader's Reward Member, you will receive a minimum of 25%.  (Some restrictions do apply.)  There will be in-store demonstrations from local vendors including Maplebrook Farm, Northshire Brewery and Bobo's Mountain Sugar.  Several authors will be visiting for meet-and-greets and book signings of their latest books.  The main event of the day will be at 7:00 pm with Pultizer Prize winning author Richard Russo who will speak about and sign his latest book, Everybody's Fool.

catSunday, September 11th is devoted to the youngest customers at Northshire with the Children's Festival.  There will be fun crafts, book-themed games, special giveaways, and so much more.  At 11:00 am, come to Dr. Seuss Story Time and meet the Cat in The Hat himself.  You might even get a chance to have your picture taken with him.  From 4:00 - 5:30, it is Kid's Book Trivia.  Kids 7-14 are invited to work together to test their knowledge with a team trivia game in order to win some great prizes including Northshire Bookstore gift cards.
