Two artists of great sensitivity and remarkable refinement, Mélissandre T-B and François-Félix Roy form a duo where delicacy meets power. From traditional Québécois tunes to Scandinavian melodies, from archival songs to mouth music-inspired compositions, François-Félix draws from a vast musical repertoire, performed with a pick or in fingerstyle. Through improvisation, Mélissandre responds to this music in a unique style marked by lightness and subtlety, blending traditional Québec step dance, ballet, and contemporary dance. Creating atmospheres that are by turns playful, dramatic, or virtuosic, they offer a performance rich in nuance-a finely crafted work of artistry, meant to be savored.
A seasonal celebration of Vermont’s incredible musicians, the Summer Concert Series has been serving up a side of local music to downtown Burlington at lunchtime for 14 years.
