The Details:

Whether you're looking for a home base for a biking or hiking adventure, or a peaceful getaway, The Kingdom A-Frame is truly a heaven we want to share with you. We have meticulously decorated each room to make the space unique and comfortable. Built in 1968, our a-Frame is located minutes away from the Kingdom Trails, Burke Mountain, Lake Willoughby, and across the street from the VAST trail. With picturesque views from our street, and all the amenities, you may never want to leave the aframe.

The space

Check out our IG: @thekingdomaframe

The Kingdom A-Frame features a full kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms as well as a very comfortable open living area. The house is located on a 3.8 acre property for you to enjoy your stay peacefully with privacy. There is a large deck, a patio, and a fire pit to sit around and admire the beautiful view.

We are 7 minutes from East Burke Center and minutes from the Kingdom Trails. Lake Willoughby (named the 3rd best lake in New England) is 10 minutes away, where you can hike year-round, fish, kayak, and swim while enjoying the beautiful water and views. We are 12 minutes to Burke Mountain for skiing and skinning and across the street from the VAST trail network for snowmobiling.

Here are some aframe highlights:

*Coffee bar with 5 different ways to make coffee. Complimentary local Vermont coffee and tea (Brave Coffee Co) is always available for your stay.
*Fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for cooking including oil and spices.
*Memory foam mattresses & duvets (duvet's are washed after every guest.)
*Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets
* Complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash by Lunaroma, made right here in Vermont.
*Starlink network with two smart TVs to stream Netflix, Hulu, etc (we recommend downloading movies before arriving in case the wifi isn't strong enough.)
* Board games & backyard games
* Record player with some of our favorite vintage (& current) records.
* Game room with shuffleboard and old-school Nintendo.
* Wood stove with complimentary kiln dried wood and fatwood sticks.
* Outdoor propane grill.
* Outdoor fire pit (backyard) and vintage Preway fireplace (front yard.)
* Large fenced in yard suitable for both small and large pups.

Our a-frame has been designed with comfort and experience in mind. It's our home that we want to share with you. While there aren't neighbors super close by, noise carries and we request quiet hours outside after 9:00pm and no parties.

*please note, we are no longer dog friendly during the winter months* One well behaved dog allowed with a $50 pet fee. If you are bringing a dog, we require that you let us know when you request to book. If you have more than one dog, please contact us for consideration which would be an additional $50 fee. We ask that you be respectful of this request since we are striving to keep the a-frame pup-friendly. No other animals, including cats, allowed.

Guest access

House will be fully available to guest. The a-frame has keyless access- we will send the code prior to your arrival. We have a washer/dryer in a locked room that we will allow guests staying over a week to use.

Other things to note

* For holiday weekends, your booking
must include Friday, Saturday, and
Sunday evenings.
* The master bedroom is located in the
open loft and is accessed by a spiral
staircase. The loft master includes a
half bathroom.
* The basement is the 3rd bedroom
which has 4 twin beds (that can
become king beds) and is also the
game room with shuffleboard, a TV,
and Nintendo. The staircase to the
basement is steep - please use the
handrails.
* Cell service, while generally decent,
can be spotty at times - it isn't like
being in a city. We have a cell booster
to help with service.
* We have Starlink wifi service. It's fast, but not super high speed. There is free
wifi in town and also offered at the coffee shop.
* We have a ring security camera
located in the front of the house, used for
check-in and for your safety and the
safety of the home while vacant.

*please note The Kingdom Trails close Oct 31 and reopen sometime in May for mountain biking. It opens for fatbiking when there's snow.
*there is usually a fire ban starting in April or May through May. It's weather dependent, but during that time you are unable to use the fire pit. We will notify you.
*we have the driveway plowed and the streets are maintained by the town, but this is Vermont and in the winter roads can be...wintery. In the spring the roads can be muddy. 4wd/AWD isn't necessary, but always helpful.

What Our Guests Are Saying:
Leslie
February 2025
Our third time staying! We love the location! the views to east, west and south just a short walk down the dirt road are amazing and it’s very private. Alexis is super easy to communicate with and goes above and beyond to provide a nice stay. One day my husband and I will get to her other a-frame without the whole family:) We ski at Burke (12 min), wander around willoughby and sentinel rock and grab a beer and slice in town. We keep saying how we want to go in the summer. Definitely recommend.
From $275/night
