The Details:

Cozy 2-bedroom cabin ideally suited for friends and couples seeking solitude while still having access to skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, mountain biking, and four-wheeling.

Situated on 5 acres with a private stream and woods, the cabin is located just 20 minutes from Jay Peak Resort, 40 minutes from Stowe off Route 100, and about an hour and a half from Burlington.

The space

This cabin is perfect for mature adults seeking a peaceful getaway. It may not be suitable for small children or those looking to host parties, as we are legally limited to 4 guests maximum. We have full-time neighbors and are committed to maintaining a quiet and respectful atmosphere for their enjoyment. Please keep this in mind when planning your stay.

Guests will have full access to the cabin and property, though the shed and closets are locked as they store essential equipment (snow blower, cleaning products, etc.).

This converted 1970s camp, now a year-round cabin, is entirely yours and spread out across two floors. The top floor features air conditioning, while the bottom level remains naturally cool. Propane heat centrally located keeps both levels warm. Enjoy hassle-free check-in with keyless entry on the front door.

The bottom floor houses our comfortable kitchen, which includes a fridge, coffee maker, toaster, stove, microwave, French press, and a variety of pots, pans, plates, glasses, utensils, and kitchen basics. This is our "full-time" kitchen and is well-stocked. However, if you need something specific, please let us know in advance, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. Note that there is no dishwasher.

Our living and dining rooms are centrally located, offering a panoramic view of the yard and featuring an electric stove and a selection of board games for your enjoyment.

Bedroom #1 on the first floor features a brand-new memory foam queen mattress and a cozy reading nook. Adjacent to this bedroom is a 3/4 bath with updated fixtures and vegan bath products.

On the second floor, you'll find our loft with a projector and Roku. We’ve recently upgraded to Starlink internet. If weather conditions occasionally disrupt the signal, we encourage you to enjoy our board games and books to help you unplug and spend quality time together.

Bedroom #2 is located next to the loft on the top level. It includes a brand-new memory foam queen mattress, a cedar trunk, and a small desk for a designated workspace. Attached is a newly remodeled half bath with updated fixtures and shiplap walls.

Outside, there’s a small freestanding deck with Adirondack chairs, a Weber grill, and a bistro set. We’ve recently installed new railings around the perimeter of the deck to ensure safety while still preserving the view from the living room. By booking this listing, you confirm that you and your guests are able-bodied and can navigate the deck safely. In the side yard, you’ll find our chiminea with locally sourced hardwood benches. The stream is a short walk from the cabin, though it requires navigating some damp spots.

PETS
We are pet friendly, and welcome you to come with your pup! Sadly (for a variety of reasons) we don't accept cats or other pets. While we love all of our furry guests, please keep pets off all furniture.

Guest access

This is a private freestanding home with parking up to 4 vehicles.

Other things to note

This property is so much more than a rental; it’s our home. If you’re looking for something more akin to fine lodging, our cabin might not be the best fit. While we strive to include thoughtful touches, we encourage guests to personalize their experience by truly unplugging and enjoying not just our home, but everything the outdoors has to offer.

Please note that smoking and parties are not allowed. We’ve worked hard to renovate this cabin over the past year and want to preserve it for years to come. We use all-natural pest spray and weed control around the driveway and foundation, ensuring it’s safe for children and adults. However, occasional ants or spiders might still find their way in despite our best efforts.

**Things to note:**

- We are located in Northern Vermont, where the weather can be unpredictable. In winter months, a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. While the driveway and road are maintained with snow removal, you will need to shovel a path (no more than 20 feet) to the cabin upon arrival. A shovel will be provided by the door.

- Since this is a converted camp, there are no doors on the bedrooms, allowing heat to circulate freely. The bedrooms are on separate levels with their own bathrooms and living spaces to help maintain privacy.

- Although our cabin is equipped with modern amenities (electric, septic, well), we are still in a remote area where wildlife (bears, deer, moose, bobcats, mice, and insects) is present. Please keep this in mind when booking.

- The water at our cabin is sourced from a private drilled well. While generally safe for use, you may occasionally notice a slight sulfur smell, which is natural to the area and non-hazardous. The well and water lines are sanitized each year, and we also have an inline filter in place to enhance water quality. Additionally, a drinking water filter is provided in the fridge.

- We’re situated on a right-of-way access that’s part of the VAST snowmobile trail system. While sled noise has not been an issue, we want to make you aware of our excellent access to the trail system and surrounding trails.

- Our main road also serves as a connection point for ATV trails, providing excellent access for us and our guests. Although our cabin is set back from the road, some noise may still be possible.

- With peace and solitude comes…peace and solitude. The nearest hospital, major grocery store, and pharmacy are about a half-hour away. For smaller items, local general stores, farm stands, and gas stations will help make your stay more comfortable.

*WEATHER/CANCELLATIONS* Weather events are becoming less and less predictable, and because they are out of our control we do not offer refunds for cancellations, or reservation date changes, due to weather events. Please purchase travel insurance (which AirBNB now offers!) to help protect yourself.

Additionally, because our calendar stays fully booked year round we have a strict cancellation policy and do not make exceptions. If you have concerns about this, feel encouraged to purchase travel insurance, either from AirBNB or elsewhere. This is a great option to protect you, and protect us as hosts/business owners. We appreciate your understanding!
