The solar-powered home features 4 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, an indoor hot tub, 3 covered porches (all w/seating - 1 w/grill & dining table), 2 large living rooms, a game room (foosball, ping pong, pop-a-shot, and skeeball), and boats (2 canoes, 1 tandem kayak, and 6 kid-sized kayaks).
The Ponder Yonder Retreat offers a luxurious getaway perfect for two or three families all year round. With three primary bedrooms (each with a newly renovated, en-suite bathroom), a bunk bed room, and two spacious living rooms (one on each floor), there is room for groups to gather and plenty of space for adults and children to do their own thing. Between the game room, hot tub, and fully-stocked kitchen, you can keep busy inside for days... but what’s truly special is the property, which offers acres of ponds, streams, and forest to explore.
THE HOUSE
1st floor:
- Living room: The perfect spot to curl up with a book, watch a movie (smart TV w/ DVD player), or enjoy the view through a wall of windows
- Hot tub: The indoor hot tub is a perfect place for soaking after a day on the slopes!
- Bedroom 1: Queen bedroom suite, with attached newly-renovated full bathroom (shower/tub combo), large smart TV, and DVD player
- Bedroom 2: Two sets of bunk beds (both are full/twin) with desk
- Hallway bathroom: Newly renovated full bathroom with Jack and Jill sink and walk-in rain shower
- Laundry room: Newly renovated with brand new full-size washer/dryer
- Attached garage: Three-car garage has space for two cars… the third bay has a pool table! Radiant heat keeps games warm even in the winter.
- Porch: Large, covered entry porch with seating overlooking a pond
2nd floor:
- Kitchen: Oversized, fully equipped kitchen with cherry cabinets, a large island w/seating for four, kitchen table, and tons of amenities for cooking big family meals. Coffee machine, waffle maker, blender, etc. A small porch off the kitchen has seating to overlook the backyard. Desk with printer available.
- Dining room: Seating for 10
- Veranda: Covered porch off the dining room has a grill, outdoor table, and rocking chairs to enjoy your morning coffee as the sun rises over the ponds
- Living room: Bright second living room includes vaulted ceilings, a wall of windows offering views of the ponds, tons of family games, and large smart TV with DVD player
- Game room: Ping pong, foosball, skee ball, and a pop-a-shot will keep everyone entertained
- Bedroom 3: The primary bedroom has a king bed, desk, en suite full bathroom (newly renovated) with walk-in rain shower, large smart TV, and DVD player.
- Bedroom 4: Queen bedroom suite with attached full bathroom (newly renovated) with walk-in shower, and large smart TV
- Powder room: Newly renovated half-bathroom accessible from the hall
The house is solar-powered with Powerwall batteries that can power the house in case of an outage and has central air, and radiant and propane heat. All of the bedrooms have a ceiling fan and closet.
THE PROPERTY
Guests are welcome to use the canoe, tandem kayak, 2 adult kayaks, and six kid-sized kayaks to explore acres of ponds. The property has plenty of space for hiking/snowshoeing in the woods and trails to discover several small waterfalls and streams. In the spring, summer, and fall, keep an eye out for the local beavers, otters, frogs, fish, and birds that share our land! In the winter, snowmobilers can enjoy the VAST snowmobiling network accessible from the property.
The last half mile of road and driveway are gravel. Both are regularly plowed, but 4WD is recommended in the winter.
There are two spots to park in the three-car garage and plenty of parking just outside the garage. Self check-in with a keypad.
In the winter, a 4WD is needed to navigate VT roads and to access our house.
Guests use the hot tub, bunk beds, pond, and boats at their own risk. The two small cabins on the property are not usable.
No cats! We have a family member who is allergic!
