Vermont.com Guide to

Wolcott

We Are
Vermont.

Wolcott, Vermont is a town in Lamoille County, east of Morrisville, Vermont. The town was named for the highly esteemed General Oliver Wolcott, a member of the Continental Congress and a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

The retail buildings for Buck's Furniture, Vermont's largest furniture store with one of New England's largest selections, dominate downtown Wolcott. When they closed in 2014, Vermont lost a long-standing business, and the village of Wolcott lost a major employer and property owner. With the support of a state tax credit award, the new owner is planning a phased redevelopment of multiple historic buildings that were once part of the furniture store.
