Sharon is a town in Windsor County, of the Woodstock-Quechee region, and is home to The Sharon Academy, an independent middle and high school.
The town was named for Sharon, Connecticut, where most of the town's grantees and many of the subsequent settlers lived.
Some notable people of the area include: Jason Downer, a Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court; and Joseph Smith, Jr., founder of & prophet for the Latter Day Saint movement.
