New Haven is a town in Addison County, of the Middlebury-Vergennes region and contains the village of Belden (sometimes called Belden Falls) as well as Brooksville, New Haven Junction and New Haven Mills.

Some notable people from the area include: Josiah Bushnell Grinnell, founder of Grinnell, Iowa & benefactor of Grinnell College; Curtis M. Lampson, a fur merchant, best remembered for his promotion of the transatlantic telegraph cable; Royal T.
