Morristown, Vermont is located in a valley along the winding Lamoille River, in Lamoille County. The town is 45 miles northeast of Burlington, Vermont's largest city; 30 miles northwest of Montpelier, the State Capital; and 10 miles north of Stowe, the Ski Capital of the East.

Some notable people from Morristown include: H. Henry Powers (lawyer & congressman), Leslie M. Shaw (businessman & lawyer, Governor of Iowa from 1898 to 1902, Treasury Secretary from 1902 to 1907, and the 1908 candidate for the nomination of the Republican party), and Shap Smith (lawyer, and speaker of the Vermont House of Representatives).
