Vermont.com Guide to

Hartland

We Are
Vermont.

Hartland is a town in Windsor County, of the Woodstock-Quechee region.

The town was originally named Hertford, until 1782 when the Vermont Legislature changed the name to Hartland, because it was too close to the town of Hartford, making it difficult for people to know which town was being mentioned.

A notable person of the area is George Seldes, an American investigative journalist and media critic.
