Corinth is a town in Orange County, in the "Woodstock-Quechee" region, and comprises seven villages: East Corinth, West Corinth, South Corinth, Corinth Center, Corinth Corners, Cookeville, and Goose Green.
Some residents prefer to think their town's name came from a village in England, where the name is spelled Corrinth, but no connection between that community and the grantees of Corinth has ever been discovered.
Tim Burton's film Beetlejuice (1988) was filmed in East Corinth, one of the most photographed New England foliage scenes.
Some notable people from the area include: Tania Aebi, the first American woman to sail solo around the world; and Alexander Twilight, the first African American to serve in a state legislature.
