Combustible Cabaret’s Holiday Happening promises cardboard puppet chaos, ballyhoo, burlesque, drag, and live music to stir up your seasonal celebration.
Ready for a Holiday Happeninging not-to-be-missed? Mix shabby cardboard puppets, bawdy burlesque, dangerous drag, and a too-hot-to-handle live band into a cocktail of provocative holiday party punch? That’s the Combustible Cabaret Holiday Happening at the Haybarn Theater located at 123 Pitken Rd in Plainfield, VT on December 19th and 20th!
The Combustible Cabaret brings incendiary performance art for a dumpster fire timeline!
The Combustible Cabaret is founded by artistic director and puppeteer Ben t. Matchstick (Hadestown, PinBox 3000) and features a cast of mischievous elf helpers. Playing the Master of Ceremonies is Stoph Scheer, wunderkind of puppet brilliance. The performance also features violinist and composer Kaethe Hostettler (Cickestra, QWANQWA, Debo Band), harpist Marie Hamilton, Phin Sonen (Spielpalast Cabaret), and I HATE TREES, a world-premiere short puppet-tchotchke film manufactured in a dank garage by Lynn Jeffries and Paul Zaloom. There’s shellfish elves, revolutionary frogs, absurdist robots, toy pistol-packin’ banditas, No Kings Krampus and plenty of stockings to stuff. Over 20 acts of holiday delight from naughty to nice to naughty again.
Wear your festive holiday attire, fancy or kitsch, and get yourself under the mistletoe for the premiere of the Combustible Cabaret. Tickets on sale at theaterengine.com.
