Join In-Sight Photography Project on November 11th at 7pm at the Latchis Theatre for our fundraiser benefit screening of All the Beauty and the Bloodshed.

“Photography is like a flash of euphoria, and it gave me a voice.” – Nan Goldin

Directed by Laura Poitras, this award-winning documentary explores the life, groundbreaking photography, and fearless activism of artist Nan Goldin as she fights to hold the Sackler family accountable for its role in the opioid crisis. Through Goldin's story, the film examines the intersections of art, activism and power.

All the Beauty and the Bloodshed draws connections between Goldin's deeply personal photographic work and her extraordinary activism. A recurring theme emerges: those with power are rarely held accountable for the harm they cause, while those most vulnerable are left to bear the consequences. But artists can expose these injustices, challenge the structures that perpetuate them, and demand something different.

Additionally, In-Sight is offering a pre-film reception at 5:30 PM at Sage’s, next door to the Latchis Theatre. Tickets for the reception are $15 and light refreshments will be available with a Cash Bar.

This event is a fundraiser for In-Sight Photography Project, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that teaches youth photography and fosters personal development and cultural engagement. For over 30 years In-Sight has been a place where young people discover their creative and authentic voices. We teach photography as more than a technical skill. Expression, observation, and critical thinking are central to how we make, discuss, and share images. In-Sight introduces students to photographers who tell stories, challenge assumptions, and draw attention to things that might otherwise go unnoticed. Artists are observers, translating what they see and experience into something that allows others to see the world differently.

In-Sight offers classes on a pay-what-you-can scale from $0-$500, along with partnership programs with local schools and nonprofits for students who may not be able to access the programs in our downtown facility.
Student work will be on view in the Latchis Main Theatre during the film screening, so you can see some of the incredible work they have created. Alumni have volunteered, taught, and joined the In-Sight staff and board of directors because they want to give back to a meaningful institution that helped shape their lives. We hope you will join them!
