Find your song with Vermont singer-songwriter Myra Flynn, who brings more than 15 years of experience helping aspiring musicians turn ideas into songs. A longtime songwriter and recording artist, Myra has taught songwriting in New York City and Los Angeles and brings a working musician’s perspective to the craft.
In this four-day workshop, participants will explore practical tools for developing an idea, shaping a song, and turning life experiences into stories told through music. Early sessions focus on songwriting fundamentals and developing each participant’s original song. Later sessions offer opportunities to share works in progress, receive group feedback, and refine songs while preserving their original spark.
Myra will also discuss marketing, booking, recording, and building a sustainable creative life. The workshop concludes with a songwriting culmination for friends and family.
No previous songwriting experience is required, and participants do not need to read music or play an instrument. Those who play an instrument are encouraged to bring it.
