Few artists capture the soul of Vermont with the insight and warmth of songwriter and guitarist, Dana Robinson. His new album, The Sound of the Word, finds Robinson at the top of his game as a master musical craftsman, and top notch songwriter. Dana doesn’t just sing about places; he gets beneath the surface, translating the quiet grit and breathtaking beauty of the Vermont landscape into melody and verse.

His 2019 recording, The Town That Music Saved, was hailed as the "Best Vermont Album of the Year" by the Times-Argus. Now, with his 2026 release, The Sound of the Word, Dana invites us even deeper into the Vermont experience. Through masterful storytelling and musicianship, he illuminates the everyday magic of our state.

Whether he is navigating Vermont’s fifth season with "Mud Boot Road," honoring the local hub of the "Ripton Country Store," or capturing the essence of his home town of Cabot in “The Town That Music Saved,” Dana’s songs explore iconic Vermont as well as lesser known corners of the state.

Attending a Dana Robinson concert is a shared journey. It is a revelatory, humorous, and affirming celebration of the place we call home, led by a craftsman who has spent a lifetime honing his trade on the road and in the woods.

Seven Days writes, “Dana is a master storyteller, spinning his yarns with the precise skill of an artisan loom weaver.

“The Sound of the Word” finds Robinson at the top of his game as a master musical craftsman, top-notch songwriter, and Vermont treasure.” - Times-Argus

“Rural America explored with elegant simplicity. Their music and cleanly poetic songwriting bring to mind the great folksingers of our times.” Asheville Citizen-Times
