The third annual Barr Hill Wild Culture Fermentation Festival celebrates one of humanity’s oldest known preservation techniques with an afternoon of tastings from 15 Vermont food and beverage artisans, as well as live demos, free Barr Hill spirits tastings, including a special new whiskey release, distillery tours, live music, and more.
Explore the diverse world of fermentation by sampling cheese, chocolate, kimchi, miso, cider, beer, mead, wine, and more, while enjoying food pop-ups from Pearl Street Pizza and Chef Nadav. In addition, food and drink products will be available for purchase directly from the producers. Barr Hill Distillery’s James Beard nominated bar will also be open and serving both drinks and food.

12:30pm - Complimentary Barr Hill distillery tour plus a free mini jar of honey – guests check in at the host stand to join
1pm - Vermont Adventures in Fermentation will do a kraut-making for the home kitchen demo (in the back bar of the distillery)
1:30pm - Complimentary distillery tour with a free mini jar of honey – guests check in at the host stand to join
2pm - Watson Wheeler Cider will do an apple tasting and talk about apple qualities that make the best ciders
2:30pm - Complimentary distillery tour with a free mini jar of honey – guests check in at the host stand to join
3pm - Barr Hill bar team will do a tepache-making demo of the lightly fermented drink made from pineapple rinds that’s used in cocktails
