Catamount Arts welcomes London’s Kingdom Choir, brought by KCP Presents, to St. Johnsbury, November 26th, at 7pm. The Choir, made famous by their show-stopping gospel-infused performance of “Stand By Me” at the Royal Wedding, seen by over two billion people, will perform a concert of holiday favorites at St. Johnsbury Academy’s Fuller Hall.
Formed of individual singers and performers from in and around London, the Kingdom Choir is a group of like-minded artists dedicated to creating a sound representative of the community they share. The Kingdom Choir has been performing all over England and around the world for more than 20 years.
Renowned for their exalted harmonies, warm energy and enthusiastic performance, the Kingdom Choir is led by Karen Gibson, one of the UK’s most respected gospel tutors and choir conductors. The Kingdom Choir is a sterling example of the unity within the British gospel community.
“Full-throated vocal power and ecstatic harmonies on belters such as “Let It Shine” really get the spine tingling,” raves the Guardian.
The Kingdom Choir’s rousing November 26th program will include classics like “Joy to the World,” “Silent Night,” “This Christmas,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” promising a moving and celebratory communal experience to kick off the holiday season. As with all KCP Presents shows, students attend free of charge.
The KCP Presents Performing Arts Series showcases world-class international touring acts in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.
