Today was another phenomenal day on the slopes and the Mount Mansfield Ski Patrol continued to open new terrain.  We saw S-53 open to Starr and Lookout, along with Hayride and Maiden Lane.  The snow conditions remain excellent and it’s been a lot of fun exploring so much terrain this early in the season.

Tomorrow we will expand our operations once again with a 10am opening of the Meadows Quad on Spruce Peak.  This will give beginners access to some of the best learning terrain at Stowe on Catwalk to Easy Street.  Over on Mansfield, terrain expansion will include grooming out recent snowmaking and opening T-Line, Lower T-Line, and Lower Liftline.

Tomorrow’s National Weather Service forecast for Mt. Mansfield calls for thickening clouds throughout the day, with a chance of a late day rain or snow shower (elevation dependent).  It will once again be a little warmer tomorrow with high temperatures ranging from near 30 degrees at the summit to the upper 30s in the base area.

Summit level winds may be gusty out of the southwest at 25 - 40 miles per hour tomorrow, though usually winds of those speeds do not affect our lift operations.  In the event of any higher wind gusts, stay tuned to stowe.com/alerts or to the My Epic App for the most up to date operational information all season long.

5 uphill lifts are scheduled for tomorrow, along with the Over Easy Transfer Gondola. First chair is slated to load on the FourRunner Quad and Sunrise Lift at 8 AM.  Please note that skiing and riding off the FourRunner Quad is for intermediate and expert ability levels only.

We are projecting 48 open trails tomorrow, totaling nearly 230 acres of top to bottom skiing and riding on Vermont’s highest peak.  Our base depths range from 15-30 inches with packed powder conditions expected.

The fabled Mount Mansfield summit stake is reading 28 inches of natural depth.

Our grooming team plans to lay down fresh corduroy on 23 trails overnight, giving us nearly 9 miles of smooth terrain to carve up in the morning.  Freestyle enthusiasts, be sure to check out the Midway Hike Park in the Gondola Base Area, offering 3 fun features curated by our Stowe Parks team.

Our snowmakers are taking a well-deserved break right now due to the marginal temperatures.  Looking at the forecast, it may take until early next week for more favorable temperatures to return.  The snowmaking focus for next week is expected to include terrain off of the Gondola and Sunny Spruce Quad.
