Vermont.

Roxbury, Vermont is a town in Washington County, in the Central Vermont region of the state located southwest of Montpelier & Barre, off Route 12A. The geographic center of Vermont is located three miles east of Roxbury village.

Roxbury is one of the oldest place-names in New England, used first in Massachusetts in 1630 for a neighbor to (and now part of) Boston. One of the earliest settlers of Roxbury, VT was Captain Benjamin Samson, who is said to have rung the church bell at Lexington to warn the Minute Men of the approaching British troops.

A notable resident from the town of Roxbury is Gideon Hixon, businessman and member of the Wisconsin State Legislature.
