Description: Retreat to a woodland sanctuary for a morning of Forest Yoga and Guided Nature Immersion on Saturday September 24 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Newfane. The yoga practice is being led by Energy Medicine Yoga teacher Marianna Jacobs, and is designed to help us transition to autumn. We will welcome in the elements of nature to realign and balance our energy and allow the gifts of awareness and stillness. Following yoga, Amanda Kenyon of Landkind Guide will offer a forest immersion rooted in the Japanese tradition of shinrin-yoku (translated literally as “forest bathing”). This meditative and mindfulness-based experience is designed to quiet the mind, expand how you know nature, and deepen your connection to the world around you. You will work with all your senses for the interactive, contemplative and playful invitations offered by your guide. This guided immersion is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to relax, let your curiosity wander, and connect with the peaceful beauty of autumn. The retreat is being held at The Manitou Project, a 223 acre nature preserve in Williamsville. The land includes hiking trails, two labyrinths, a trail developed by a Cree tribal elder to honor the Four Directions, and sites for energetic alignment. Suitable for all levels of yoga experience. Newcomers to the practice of forest bathing are especially welcome. Registration is $55 and includes snacks for all participants. Space is limited and advance registration is required.
