VERMONT OPEN PRESENTS THE 2024 BANKED SLALOM

Wax up those snowboards! The Vermont Open presents The 2024 Banked Slalom; a two-day banked slalom event hosted by Stratton Mountain.

This year's Vermont Open will take place March 9 and 10, 2024 as a two-day banked slalom event open to 300 riders split into seven age divisions. Each of the seven age divisions will have first, second and third place finishers recognized. Male and Female will compete and be judged separately. Registration will be capped at 300 riders: 150 riders in 17 years old & under, and 150 riders 18 years old & over (Number of riders per age group may be adjusted based on enrollment). Note: Helmets are required for all participants.

Riders will give it their all in a downhill slalom course featuring berms, bumps, jumps and rollers twisting down Big Ben. Riders will be individually timed, and the fastest times at the end of the weekend will go home with trophy prizes.

 AGE GROUPS:

17 & Under (150 participants)

  • 8 and under
  • 9-12
  • 13-17

18 & Over (150 participants)

  • 18-29
  • 30-44
  • 45+

Race is based on qualifying day and then a final

 PRIZES:

Each age group will be awarded 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies for their winning runs within their division. Vermont Open winners will be taking home the coveted Vermont Open Maple Syrup trophies.

 REGISTRATION FEE:

Race Fee: $115.00 per participant + tax and fee

Event registration/check-in will be in the West Wing in the Main Base Lodge.

All VTO participants will need a valid 23/24 Season Pass or daily lift ticket. Lift Tickets are NOT included in the registration prices and must be purchased separately. A 2-day ticket for this event is $50 + tax and can be purchased at check-in for the event. Lift tickets are for VTO Racers/Participants only.

 EVENT SCHEDULE:

Saturday, March 9
7:30 - 8:30am: Check-In & Registration in the West Wing of the Main Base Lodge
8:30am: Weekend Lifts Open
8:30 - 9:30am: Practice on course; 17 & Under
9:30 - 10:30am: Practice on course; 18 & Over
11am - 2pm: Race starts. HEAT 1 - 17 & Under
2 - 2:30pm: Course Maintenance
2:30 - 4pm: Race starts. HEAT 1 - 18 & Over

Competitors will get up to 4 runs on Day 1. Competitors will keep the single best time from Day 1.

Sunday, March 12
7:30 - 8:30am: Check-In & Registration in the West Wing of the Main Base Lodge
9 - 11:30am: FINALS/HEAT 2 - 17 & Under
11:30am - 12pm: Course Maintenance
12 - 2:30pm: FINALS/HEAT 2 - 18 & Over
3:30pm: Award Ceremony
