Catamount Arts presents the first Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury Music Series concert of the summer, Friday, July 28th, on Railroad Street. Three-time JUNO Award-nominated composer and multi-instrumentalist Alysha Brill will play a 7pm show to cap off St. Johnsbury’s first Final Fridays event of the summer.

The Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury Music Series brings 11 free, family-friendly concerts to two St. Johnsbury locations: Dog Mountain on Sundays at 5pm, beginning July 7th, and on Railroad Street, on the final Fridays of June, July, and August, at 7pm. Friday concerts on Railroad Street happen in partnership with Discover St. Johnsbury and the Town of St. Johnsbury as part of Final Fridays, bringing monthly street fairs to downtown St. Jay with food and festivities starting at 4pm.

On June 28th, Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury season opener Alysha Brilla brings a colorful tapestry of global roots music inspired by her Indo-Tanzanian heritage and featuring a mosaic of cross-cultural influences. One of the first self-produced woman artists in Canada’s history to earn a JUNO nomination, Brilla has collaborated with Bedouin Soundclash, Digging Roots, No Doubt, the Black Eyed Peas, and Justin Nozuka. She composed the score of Fawzia Mirza’s 2023 feature film, “The Queen of My Dreams,” and has toured worldwide headlining festivals in Australia, South America, Europe, Asia, and Canada.

Alysha Brilla will perform on Railroad Street at 7pm, but Final Friday festivities begin at 4pm, when Railroad Street will close to vehicular traffic and community members can enjoy art, food, music, culture, and fun including 30 free activities and a St. J Art on the Street gallery stroll featuring art and refreshments among several local businesses. For the complete schedule of Final Fridays activities, visit www.discoverstjohnsbury.com.

The Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury Music Series is supported in part by the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation, which partners with changemakers and nonprofits across the country to activate underused outdoor spaces through the power of free live music—bringing people together, fostering belonging, and invigorating community life. Presenting high-caliber talent and a broad array of music genres and cultural programming, Levitt concerts are welcoming and inclusive destinations where people of all ages and backgrounds come together.

In 2024, the national Levitt network of music venues and concert sites is presenting 650+ free concerts in 45 towns and cities, with audiences over 750,000. In addition to supporting free concerts, the Levitt Foundation is dedicated to advancing equitable music ecosystems through research and partnerships. Learn more at www.levitt.org.
