SHE'S THE GRANDE DAME OF LAKE DUNMORE
There was a real sense of community around the lake which was inhabited by many teachers from New York, and social occasions like square dancing and tea drinking were frequent throughout the summer. Camp Dunmore for Girls and later Camp Dunmore for Boys added to the lake's visitors and noise. "I was watching the moon last night from my bedrom window. It was full, very full, to such a fullness you almost thought it was going to burst," observed Bea. She will be leaving the lake for her NYC home in a few weeks, looking forward to next summer when she returns.

This is wonderful! Can you tell me if Bea remembers the LEGGETTEs who owned the Store and roller rink area --now Sleepy Oaks?
I live behind that store and have been there for 45 years and need all the help I can get!
I have been swimming there at the Sleepy Oaks beach since purchasing my property and now persons from all over have moved in in past 7 years and have told us we are not allowed to use lake privileges any longer and they have private club now.
Our proeprty belonged to Guenvieve Leggett-Tucker and she is nolonger with us to cooborate our story and we know her father failed to put in the deed lake access and only gave "All privileges and Appurtenances" which is common in those deeds. He gave her access to the lake as he did her brothers but only states so in will clearly.
Did Bea know the Leggetts or Nan TUcker?
IF she knows anyone who could witness the fact that Nan Leggett-Tucker could use her own families lake beach we would really like to talk to them.
